On Friday April 19, 2019: It was indeed Good Friday with 17 performances, including two first times at the Black Walnut and four who performed in the first year 1994/95. We are asking them to talk about what they did in that first year and maybe repeat one of those songs. Here is a link to our face book group which has photos and more frequent updates : https://www.facebook.com/groups/436037566493112/ On Friday, April 19th the performers were: 1. Matthias Schonlau 2. This is how it was. On Friday night we had a time of reflection for memorial songs and some Irish themed songs, even some singing along. Mostly there were lots of performers including 3 first timers for Black Walnut and Jay Collins with his newest guitar that he built and strung in time for the Black Walnut. We ran out of time, so the last 4 performers who signed up after we started the event only got to sing one song each. The next Black Walnut Acoustic Open Stage will be Friday, April 19, 7-30 – 10 pm. On March 15th the performers, in order of appearance were: Carol McMullen Jake Willis Ron Hammar Hayley Nordquist – NEW Jakki Annerino David Maranta Gordon Castle Wayne Cheater Neil Light Cam & Pat Scott Abrams Jay Collins Angie & Darrell – NEW Richard Reinhardt Dan Hergottt Human Matthias Schonlau Candice – NEW
Thanks to Crossgrain and lots of Performers and Helpers February 15th
We tried out an early start time of 7:30 pm and found that only about one third of people got the message, so we actually delayed the start until 7:40 pm. I understand that next month, on March 15th, there will be no mercy If you’re late, you will miss the start of the show.
Crossgrain was the featured performer, consisting of Doug Peterman, Shane Purdy & Mike Ryan who played a wide variety of selections on 6 different instruments that were passed around on-stage. We will post a snapshot of the group on our Performers Pictures page, thanks to Joanne. Our Open stage performers were:

If you come listen to us you are bound to hear some old friends, but they might be wearing new clothes. And you might just find some new friends too.”
We are looking forward to Crossgrain doing a folk inspired, feature set of 6 songs/30minutes max to open our Black Walnut Acoustic Open Stage Event January 18, 2019 starting at 7:30pm. Please check our website: www.blackwalnutfolclub.com for more details.
